Types of Donations
There are four ways to donate: Whole blood, Platelets, Red blood cells and
Plasma.
Each component has several medical uses and is used for different medical treatments. The
eligibility for blood donation varies for each donation type. Certain qualifications are required to be met in
order to give plasma and platelets, compared to red cells and whole blood. Eligibility blood tests determine
the best donation for any donor to make. Donor must be atleast 17 years of age.
